Blues, Rock, Folk
Now living and loving in Glen Gardner, NJ, Bob Klein has been a composer, recording engineer, and performer in the Harrisburg area and environs since the 1970s. In the early 80s, working with renowned Harrisburg guitarist and composer Jim Gates and recognized (infamous!) Baltimore guitarist Andy Rathgeber, a respectable (albeit at times politically incorrect!) body of work was created at Jim’s 4-track tape-based studio in Meade Heights housing area at the Capital Campus of Penn State. Others were created with Andy using a Tascam 4-track cassette machine. Examples of these tunes are available on this site. Many of the tunes on this site are from a remixed CD engineered by Andy Rathgeber. Newer tunes were created by Bob using digital equipment (see below).
Digital Remastering Services
Bob has recently upgraded to digital recording; his studio includes a Roland VS-840gx, a Fostex MR-8, and a ZOOM PS-04 multitrack recorders. His most recent works, “Chicken Nite at Tony’s” and "Rafferty's Rap" -- written for local businesses -- are available on this site. Additional recent work includes the digital remastering of works from Harrisburg-Lancaster based bands Wind and Wood and C2H.
Music Services / Composition for Special/Corporate Events
Bob also composes and records theme and promotional music and computer graphics/logos and as a consultant. As an example, “Step UP!”, a tune he wrote/recorded for the 1999 Vantis WW sales conference in Chicago, is available on this site. This song, a Chicago Blues-style rocker, was recorded and then sent to individuals within Vantis (including the company President and CEO) who Bob knew to be musicians. The tune was played live by this group for the entire conference on the last evening of the event; no one – save the musicians themselves and possibly a spouse or two – knew this was going to go down. The result was incredible – people were literally up dancing on tables! Everyone agreed the music – performed by the very leaders of the team – was the highlight of the conference and made it the most memorable, inspiring sales conference they’d ever attended. If you have a special event coming up, and you’d like to have music composed, recorded, and/or performed for that event, please contact Bob through this site. Thanks!
Peace Love Laughter Music,
Bob
