Chris Nelson was the driving force behind the local indie rock band Fishkill, having first played all the instruments on their three CDs, then playing live as a three piece band. He wrote all the music as well as played guitar and sang lead vocals. The group played all over central Pennsylvania.
Since the breakup of the band, he's moved on to create a slightly different sound: Dark Folk. As a pioneer of this new style, he has taken rock and roll and fused it with the innocense of folk and the heavier sounds in blues to create a totally unusual sound. The sounds resembles the multiple layers one hears on any given night, from the cacophonus sounds of a city night to the quiet whispers of a dark country road.
On record, he plays all the instruments, while live, he's an acoustic guitarist. He's currently working on a brand-new 14-track CD that should be completed later this year.
